These beautiful kittens have burrowed their way into the hearts of three US marines deployed in Afghanistan who now hope they can bring their furry friends back home with them to live for good.
The life of an animal in Afghanistan isn't easy, they are rarely kept domestically, rarely loved by humans often inhumanly abused and pretty much always having to find their way own way by scrounging for scraps of food. Most have to make it alone, some unfortunately don't make it at all and the lucky few find comfort and love in the troops that take them in and begin to care for them everyday.
Not only are these bonds good for the animals, they're also a great morale boost for the troops that befriend them. Caring for these lost cats and pups gives them something positive to focus on and to keep them sane while being so far away from home and familiarty. These bonds don't stop once their time comes to head home, some have to leave their furry friends behind not knowing where the pet they cared for all these months are, or how they're doing, or if they're even alive.
Sadly there isn't much focus on deployed troops and their friendships with animals, also animals aren't permitted to board military flights, this makes rescuing an Afghan animal a difficult and costly process...
With your help we can raise enough to get these babies home with their marines to live a good life like every cat should and for the guys who saved them, the peace of mind that they will always be safe!
Please read the kittens stories, look at their pictures and feel free to make a donation, anything you can give big or small is one step towards bringing these ginger fluff-balls home! Also if you would like to be kept updated on what the kittens are up to and the progress of their rescue, please join the facebook group!
Thankyou for your help, it is greatly appreciated. :-)
